Stormy is a real person.  Not a made-up social media persona for SizeTracker or even a pseudonym (though I am often asked if that’s my real name).

I spend most of my time on this blog writing about subjects that are relevant to my business.   Good for an encyclopedia, perhaps, but maybe not for a resource about personal topics like your child’s growth and development and how clothing fits them.

Today, I ran across a blog post from Trish at MomDot.  She suggested an Introduce Yourself Day to help bloggers represent themselves as real people with real names and personal stories, and to distinguish themselves from the brand/business/blog persona they might represent.

So, here goes:

Professionally, I lead a double-life.  Part of the week, I work in the field of health care quality improvement and information technology.  Basically, I work with doctor’s offices that want to use electronic health records and other technology to improve patient care and safety.  The rest of the week, I work with my programmer husband developing and operating SizeTracker, which is a web-based service that helps parents and gift-givers find the correct brand-specific size of clothing for their child/ren.  I am interested in technology, data, and how they can help people make good decisions.

SizeTracker has been a labor of love for me.  It started with an idea I had several years ago related to another business I was running at the time.  That business dissolved, but the idea of being able to track children’s growth and size changes stuck.  A lot of planning, development, and juggling later, the idea is finally a reality.  We are about to officially launch the site (within the next two weeks) and I am extremely excited to share it with you when it’s ready.

Personally, I love to sew and cook – for me it’s about the process of creation, the infinite ways to put raw materials together to come up with something beautiful or delicious, and about the sensory experience of working with those materials.

I am also a reader, an outdoor enthusiast (running, biking, camping, etc.), a dancer (love that salsa music), a gardener, and a traveler by nature.  These interests allow me to connect with my family and friends, myself (when I’m stressed out), and the world around me.
